The other night I was trying to find a way to use our Instant Pot yet not do the same old Yummy pork roast.   Don’t get me wrong, I love making a roast in the IP.  Throw a little salt and spices set the time and 45min later you are eating good.

Tonight I was thinking back to some pork chops that my mom used to get from her local butcher.  They were called Apple Chops.  I believe they were marinated in Applesauce and Apple Juice for an extended period of time.    I didn’t have that much time, but with the Instant Pot as a Pressure Cooker, the flavors will usually penetrate the meat rather well.  One thing I will do next time is use a different type of apple and cut some slits into the roast for better penetration.

On to the Recipe: 

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 5-10 min
Cook Time: 45-60 min


2-3lb  Pork Loin Roast
4 Apples Quartered
1/4c Water
Coarse Salt
Ground Cinnamon


  • Season Pork with Coarse Salt and place in Instant Pot
  • Quarter Apples and place on top of Roast
  •  Sprinkle with Cinnamon
  • Set Instant Pot to Manual for 45min and place lid on with Vent Closed
  • Test Pork to make sure it is at the proper temp.  Pressure cook for additional time if needed.
